Oh, GOD, that Storm person was a terrible stylist. GOD BLESS YOU for going there more than once, because I wouldn't have gone back after the FIRST time. You must have been really desperate for a stylist!
I have a thread on the BLOOPERS board. It's a sticky named "HOW TO FIND A GOOD STYLIST".....or something like that.
Everyone should check it out and post your own recommendations for finding a good stylist.
Hair type: who knows?
Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06
MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!!
Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so
ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH!

I live in Henderson, Nevada, I actually live around the corner from Total Experience on Sunset. I was going to go there until I read your review, thanks for the heads up!! I have been trying to find a african american hair salon. I do no know anyone here to get any recommendations from. Do you know of any that is an all around hair salon where I can get a relaxer, weave & color that does a good job and not want me to sell my first born. I am from the Bay Area, if I don't find someone here soon I might just take a flight to Sacramento and check Margaret out. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Again,

this young lady seems to be the first african american beautician that i've worked with that seems to have her act together. check out her website, margaretsbraidsandweaves.com. that picture is her..and she looks better in person...
i thought i would have a problem with her because i needed to have my extensions out, and resume with a natural style..it was a problem at first, mainly because she was having to take down someone elses work - which was not very easy..she was very professional about it.
the beautician prior to her, (her name is Storm) braided my hair in a pattern that was not only difficult to take down, but had also broken off the new growth at the edges..
Margaret was surprised at how much hair i had grown in after only 10 weeks..apparently, it's assumed that most AA women have short hair or none at all when they wear extensions. I might have come to her sooner, but unfortunately, i was interviewing other beauticians.
it was very impressive with how she could style my hair, and she didn't get snip happy with the scissors. after i left her salon - i didn't have to wait to get home to restyle, re-cut, re-anything. the last beautician, Storm, would stand there fumbling around with my head, etc..sometimes, i would be so frustrated after she would place the full head extensions, i would take the scissors and style, cut my own hair. she only knew how to cap off - but had no idea how to style..with her, i also had problems with tracks not being sewn, once, i came home with a needle still attached to the thread, track ends not cut off and left hanging in the breeze and of course, thread hanging from the tracks, thank gawd, it was the same color of my hair..i styled my hair and rechecked her work so that i wouldn't walk out of that salon looking as if i was wearing a wig. Then when i came home, believe it or not, my boyfriend had gotten to the point of rechecking her work - and tacking in tracks that she missed! The name of this stylist name was Betty Robinson, who goes by the name of Storm..She resides in las vegas at a salon called Total Experience..i thought she was great, until i found someone better...and Margaret doesn't borrow money from her clients, as well...that's a plus.
Margaret resides in sacramento and was a refreshing surprise..she does have an assistant that sets up the needles, threads, drier, heat appliances..it's in a very posh salon called The Boulevard..other than the assistant, it's pretty private.. she's fast, she had my hair done in less than 3 hours. that included taking out storm's work, (which only took margaret about 45 minutes,) shampoo, deep condition, placing only one track at the bottom, relaxing blowdry, and set. Storm would take 4 - 5 hours..(including 1 to 1 1/2 hours to take down her work), and braid, etc, with no deep condition at all.
if i meet someone better than margaret, that would be tough..but i'm happy that i researched, waited, and moved on...i guess when you don't know any better, you think you really "got it goin' on"...i thought i did...
