Do yall buy these oils separately? B/c when they're in a jar together it's hard to tell which once actually make your hair feel the way you want it to. I can't really explain what I'm trying to say, but where can I buy these oils in seprate jars? I know where to find shea butter, coco butter, jojoba, vitamin e, but I can't find rosemary oil, mango butter, sweet almond oil, wheat germ oil, or milk protein.

I used it on my hair instead of my scalp and hated it.  I've never had my hair feel THAT greasy ever!  I had to wash it out of my hair the next day.

I would use it.  Probably not on my scalp but I'd use it on my hair.

I agree with Supersuga.  Some people use products containing mineral oil, petroleum, lanolin, etc and don't have a problem with it and their hair is healthy.

Moni Q

Some people like the indian hemp grease.  I would say to try some of your mother's before you buy it.  What have you used on your scalp in the past?

i totally agree- no petroleum or mineral oils. However- olive oil did not work on my hair- it just sat there and laughed at me. I will not try it again. I do love wheatgerm oil, apricot kernel oil, melted down shea butter, mowrah butter and sunflower butter. Tea tree oil and Jojoba oil ,carrot oil and avocado butter also worked well on my hair.

The thing is, there several oils/products/techniques that MANY people swear by.  They just don't work for everyone, because nothing is absolute.  What works great for me may not be half as beneficial to you.

I think your best bet is to judge by the state of your mother's hair.

Make every day you have count, before the time comes for you to count every day you have.

I agree with Layla and Tiffiney.  Avoid Mineral oil and Petroleum.  I only use Jojoba and Olive oils.

I wouldn't put anything with petrolatum or mineral oil on my scalp. I try to avoid it all together but I'll use it on my hair sometimes. I only use shea butter or natural oils like jojoba or coconut oil on my scalp.

Can someone point me in the direction of a post that lists all the oils to avoid.  Lanolin has been mentioned before.  My mom has this oil that she swears by.  It's called Indian Hemp...it contains jojoba oil, rosmary oil, sweet almond oil and a whole lot of other stuff.  What worries me is that it also lists petolatum, and lanolin as the first two ingredients.  Would you still use it?  I need to find something that moisturizes my scalp.
