I don't know what your situation is, but I dyed my hair six months ago with a semi-permanent hair color "dark brown" which came out "black" and I was trying to get it out of my hair, and dye it another color. Not so much blonde, but this color had to be removed/lifted before applying another color. Gosh, what a heartache.

I messed up my hair big time.....so big careful.

The Colorfix as suggested above did NOTHING to my hair. So I bleached it twice in 2 weeks,(my hair was in good shape before) and now it is breaking, and it is still ORANGE not BLONDE. Matter of fact I went and bought a wig today because I am afraid to put anything else on it, even a toner.

My hair was already short but I am thinking of calling the beautician and see if I can get it cut shorter. Which I Hate!

Good Luck

You poor thing!  Well, I'm only going to bleach my hair because I want to get rid of the black, so I'll be dying over the orange-ness.  I want to dye it ultra-violet brown, and I've bought a bleach which is reccommended for use with the hair dye I've bought too.  I'm going to treat my hair really well for 2 weeks before I bleach it :)

color fix is definately much healthier for the hair that color zap. color fix can me applied (to hair that is in good condition) up to three times in one day to remove the color. it will leave your hair soft, and silky, and it will softent the new grwoth (if you have any) so that it will take color as easily as the previously processed ends. this will ensure an all over even color. after the color fix, you will need to bleach. i agree with fabulous, 7th stage by clairol is an amazing bleach. then tone to the shade of your choice.

you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair, that could turn out bad)

Hi Biker Chic,

I agree with Bryan and FabulousHairExt on the Color Fix. I personally have used it 3 or 4 times and honestly it is a great product. My hair was permantly colored medium brown and over time it became very very dark brown. The Color Fix pulled it up to a light brown for that was the shade I was hopeing for. What I liked most about the product was that it gave me the shade I wanted, it left my hair silky soft, and I could apply a new hair color right afterwards.

Thanks for the replies....The extensions are bonded in at the moment.

A hair dresser came into the store yesterday and I was asking her, about my dilemma. she suggested that I use colorzap to remove the color and not use bleach, but to go over it with a Wella blonde color. What do you think of this suggestion?

Again thanks for the replies they are very helpful.

HAPPY DYEING! :-)

Yes bryan is definitely right, you need to apply colorfix to your hair to remove the dark brown hair color, please note that it may take 2-3 applications of the colorfix to get the dark brown off your hair. then once the color is removed you apply your bleach, most people use  7th stage by clairol (with 3 lightener pacs), or you can use wella wellite. After you remove your color and bleach just apply the toner of your choice and that's all.

Also what method of hair extensions do you use, i ask because if it is fusion or any glue method i would wait 2 weeks after you go blonde to install, that way you will have a little more support for the extensions form the virgin new groth. good luck and i hope this post helps.

fyi I know my spelling sux!

Hi, I am new here, and have several issues . The first one is my hair was to the middle of back and I got it cut above my shoulders, right below my ears matter of fact. It was brown with blonde highlights. well when I got it cut off it cut most of the highlights out and my hair was two different colors. I was working for "Sallys" and trying to put some shine and get the hair all one color. So I started using "Colorgems semi-permanent hair color - Dark Brown - and my hair looks almost black. In fact I have had extensions put in my hair and the Black match perfectly. Now I want to remove the extensions and dye my hair blonde and then have the blonde extensions put into my hair. For some reason the black extensions (human hair) just doesn't suit me, they are 18 inches long, I don't know if that has anything to do with or not. To me it looks fake compared to my friends who have the blonde extensions.

Now I know that Blue cuts the black, there is a type of bleach called Blue or violet. I am not sure if this will do the job or not, and no one else at work knows either. They all have blonde hair. They are suggesting I use color zap, should I still use this even though it is semi-permanent color?

suggestions welcomed...thanks for your time

HAPPY DYEING! :-)
