Your right. Perhaps I will just have to wait until my hair grows out? I wont really try any other dyes, it's too risky..yet scary.

That's strange. Maybe it depends what kind of Henna you use?

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

I haven't used henna (yet), but I have to think that if it's already been in there for a year, it's there to stay. Can you re-henna but add some "browning" herbs (I think amla is one, and indigo is another, but go light on that one or you'll be too dark) in order to just even the whole thing out? Henna is tricky because you can't guarantee what color you'll end up with...but then again, the same thing often goes for chemical colors! It just never comes out like it does on the box.

If you opt for chemical coloring, you also need to know that your hair will be two different colors as the colorant will take differently on the henna'd hair (it's a different underlying shade).

You may want to consult a professional colorist just for an opinion, get a general price quote and think about this for the future.

As far as i know through my experience with Henna (I love the stuff!) it will only last up to 6 months as it is only semi-permanent, if you are using proper henna for hair. The natural colour of your hair and if it had been dyed previously could effect that and I do know of some suppliers who add things other than henna so I suppose that could prolong the time it takes for the henna to fade. I have never heard of or had any experience of removing henna with the instructions Claude gave but i suppose it would be worth a try. good luck and let us know how it goes

I've never had any experience with Henna but from what I read try this to remove Henna:

To help remove Henna from the hair shaft, apply warm mineral oil to the hair.  Leave on 20-25 minutes.  Rinse with warm water.  Shampoo out.

G'luck

Hi,

My question is does anyone know how to get rid of the hair dye called 'Henna.' ? I have died my hair with Hanna about a year ago, and it still seems not to be going away. Is there any shampoos, or anything like that I could use to get rid of the colour?

Thanks.
