Flyaway hair is when fine baby-hair strands don't lay down flat. They "fly away" or stick up and look whispy. This happens most often with people who have fine hair strands (diameter of the strand is small). It can also happen around the edges near the temple or by the forehead.
Flat hair is hair that doesn't have as much volume as the person would like. This is also a common problem for people with medium-to-fine hair, and it also can happen if people overcondition.
