With hair, best is a relative term. :) Someone else's best has not proven to be mine and vice versa.
Me, I love Plastikhaar. Sure it has its little quirks and issues but it's a great value for a really nice synth.
WaWa bodywave is garbage. I wouldn't take it for free - it's that bad. The straight is better and can hang in there for 2 months with TLC. For $10 a bag, that's a great bargain, too. It can have frizzy ends/shine/blending/issues as well. Color selection is not the best but with plenty of blending of multiple colors, you can move up or down a few levels in color and acheive something different.
Prebond? Like, stick hair or nail hair? Making stick hair is easy but time consuming. I use a combo of latex and Aileen's glue. It's easy to work with and so far has been waterproof and not fallen apart. If I want extra hold under a shrinkie, I put a top coat of Liquid Gold on it. For the install I have in now, I did not put in LG because I wanted to test both the glue combo and the shrinkie hold on its own.
Fusion wands are damn hot on the high setting so lots of things melt under them - even tips of stick hair. A temp dial is a good thing to have on a wand so you can adjust as needed.
Clip-ins for the holiday! Have you considered those?
