Get a lawyer. Don't talk to the salon anymore. It may take a few years before you see any money from it and that doesn't even replace the mental angish.
This happened to me a few years ago. I feel for you.
Make sure you get pictures of how your hair looks right now, your attorney will want those. Also take more if it gets worse. Also have a photo of how it looked before.
To get your hair back, try laser therapy, worked for me.
I have been refunded the money for the color only not the gratuity as promised by the manager. Its been a month and i am having to deal with this still. I asked the manager to verify if he had written down my color formula or if it was off the top of his head. She cant seem to confirm anything for me and he is telling her used 20-volume, a lie......as i heard him tell his assistant 40-volume.
thanks for your concern, its been awful.

That's horrible. I'm so sorry. It makes me so angry to hear stories like this.
Well, I don't have any experience with filing a formal complaint even though I had cause to, many times in my life! I hope someone can respond and give you helpful advice. In the meantime, I assume you've voiced your displeasure already about the color job you received. Keep on them until they at least refund your money. Scary that this happened at a high end salon.

take him to court.. what a waste of flesh.. go and complain and if he doesnt do anything about it. lay the law down on him for being so inconsiderate. goodluck.
this is my hair disaster. I got a gc from my husband to go to a very posh NEwport Beach Cali salon and spa. My regular stylist was on vacation and booked out after she returned. So i figured why not try this place. IT was an Aveda concept salon,so i figured it had to be good and concerned about the health of my hair. WRONG!!!!!
I was left under the dryer for what 45 minutes with 40-volume bleach from Aveda. He never came to check the color and was working on two other clients at the same time. I asked for dark brown base to cover greys and a few blonde highlights with a trim on my length and layers. I left with blonde chunks all over my head and he had cut my curly hair layers up to my eyes. so when dry it bounced up to top of my forehead and i had breakage on every blonde chunk 2 inches from my scalp. I have tried CAt by redken and joico reconstructor, nothing is working. I cut it 4 inches in length and my regular stylist tried to even out the layers....its awful, feels like straw and is all broken and fried looking. I went in with long carmen electra pretty hair and left with a pile of mushy trashed hair. i have been devastated and its been a month. My question is can anyone tell me their experience with filing a formal complaint with the owner of the salon and a cosmetology board. Does anything come of it. I dont think stylists who dont listen to their clients and who ruin someones hair beyond repair should be allowed to continue doing that.
