Thanks Girlies!  Very helpful!

I went to see a professional last week and they said they couldn't dye it back to it's natural colour as it would go orange

Where can I get this colorfix from?  Do they sell it in the UK?

Natural Blonde: I'd suggest you go to a pro, because you sound kind of new to this and this can be complicated.  ColorFix can help you avoid bleach, if it works over the kind of dye you used (I think it doesn't work on Feria, and sometimes black is complicated. It is much safer for hair than bleach, because it only has peroxide and not too much of it).  You can ask your salon if they use colorfix to remove color already, or if you bring a box in will they be willing to use it on you.  (They should be willing - and you can buy it at a beauty supply shop).  The idea is that the colorfix removes your old darker color and will make your hair either orange or yellow, then they will dye over that with a natural looking color  (blonde).  If it comes out orange they may want to do it again until they get yellow, because it would be easier to go blonde from there.  You may want to have 2 boxes on hand if you can't find a salon that already uses colorfix.

Well, apparently most dark hair when bleached goes through an orange stage...you'll have to bleach it more than once.   (Thankfully, I won't have to do that for my situation.)

This is the problem isn't it, a lot of people want to go back to their natural colour, whereas I don't, I just want to be able to dye over black easily.

I'm afraid it's in your situation where the danger of over-processing your hair occurs often.  I'd advise to see a professional - but even they can get it wrong sometimes :)

HELP!

I am a natural blonde and I dyed my hair dark brown.

I now want to go back to being a blonde again - I have read some stuff about pre-lighteners and how you should use on and then your blonde shade on top.

There are lots of horror stories in there and i don't want my hair to go orange!

Has anyone dyed their hair back to blonde before? and if so, which pre-lightener was a success?!

Please help!!
