Hmmm, well I won't be flatironing my hair again for awhile but I will definitely use a lower setting.

340 is just a little higher. I'd only use it on the kinkiest part of my hair and the more fragile parts I'd use a lower temperature.

Thanks for the love guys! Hmmm, so I'm wondering if 340 is too hot then?

I use between 140 and 160 with my sedu. The way I find the temperature I like is to start with the lowest and increase it until it straightens good but isn't too hot.

You are so welcome!!! When I see someone making great progress like that I want to know the 411!  Thanks so much for the info! I use Surge and ORS, as well. Your regimen seems really simple which is a good thing. I had to simply mine and I think that helps me stick to it better. And again, keep up the good work! I had to get remotivated myself and your pics were a great pick-me-up!!   Thanks!

Wow, no one's ever asked me that before. You've made my day, I almost want to cry!!! :-) Thank you!!!

I use Surge and S-Curl daily and alternate between ORS Olive Oil and Mango Butter daily as well (I have a tendency to overdo it on the moisture but since Surge is a protein, I want to make sure that my hair doesn't dry out). I pretty much never use heat anymore (obviously today being the exception because I just HAD TO KNOW if my hair has grown and it's hard to tell with wet hair) and I wear my hair in ponytails and buns everyday. Pretty boring but it's paying off. I use Aphogee products (don't care for balance moisturizer tho) and I just bought V05 Kiwi and Lime for cowashes (smells great) and ORS Hair Mayo for deep conditioning. I've recently switched from no lye to lye relaxers (Motions). I think that's it. Thanks again for the compliments, you really did make my day and have remotivated me to keep on keepin on...

Well, I'll couldn't wait for a reply and I flatironed it on 320degrees (i hope that's not too hot...) using my roommate's HAI. It came out decent for me, one side came out better than the other once I got the hang of it... hey, it's been awhile. I'm gonna throw away the old piece of (bleep) flat iron that I had before. I have an FHI coming in from ebay and if it's half as good as the HAI, I'll be a happy little girl. I posted pics in the Updated fotki section of my signature.

...when you flat iron your hair with the adjustable temperatures (i.e FHI or HAI)? I don't want to use too hot of a setting but I don't want to use too low of a setting either and then have to go over the area two or three times. TIA. -GHG
