thats good sakura,, i just wanna say that ,, yes she
is your mother and u do have listen to her but its not
like ur piercign something,, , , its your body and ur
hair and u really have to do what you want provided
its healthy esp if your mom has issues about
kinkiness lol,, i know my mom does too esp becuz
im mixed but i get really pissed at her becuz I am
who i am and its totally not her place to be involved in
my appearance that much, i would understand if I
wanted tattoos or a lip ring lol but this is my hair .
You were born with your hair as it is just like ur eyes,
nose lips, etc and it would be mean for a mother to
ask you to change them ,, u gotta do what u
want..........
Hair type: 3b some c?, fine strands, last relaxer sept 05, never again!!! current :ap length on sides,,nearly bsl in back, damn those old frazzled ends! I am hair OBSESSED

Thanks for all of the help girls...

I talked to my mom about it and she was like we will see. Then she talked of starting out slow, like wearing my hair natural on weekends and such, to see how I like it. She was also like she was taught that her Kinky hair was bad so she's trying to change.....

I will keep you guys updated.

Since you are only 16 you kinda have to go by the laws of the home. However, I would suggest you ask your mother what natural styles she feels comfortable with, when I say natural styles I mean your own texture not straightened. When you move out you can wear your natural styles any way you wish but at your age and you still live at home you can compromise and negotiate because less stress is good for everyone.

girl,, u know that decision is all your,, if you wanna
keep ur hair naturakl and u know u would feel
comfortable that way then go ahead and do that,, u
might not find that its really so much easier to be
natural esp if your not totally happy with ur texture,,
but try it out for a while and see if u like it and if u
wana go back to straightening then do that,, but
remember that its your hair and body so its your
decision!! ( not your mommas)

I just get my hair pressed... I wish not having my hair straightened was that easy. when I leave it natural my mom is always like "let me pull some of those kinks out of your hair." And no matter how much I plead or say no I am always in that chair.

Do you relax your hair or just press it? If you don't relax it then you can leave it natural just to see if you want to stop pressing it.

I have a dilemma as of right now. I want to wear my hair completely natural, I’m sick of having my hair straightened; I don’t like beating my curls/naps into submission anymore. But I am kindda afraid. My hair has never been completely natural and I am unsure of how to care for it. I’ve been looking at natural hair sites but I’m still unsure of what to do. Should I keep pressing my hair or should I do what I really want.

My hair is a little longer than bra-strap when straight, and it at least doubles in thickness in its natural state. I just don’t want it to be to much for me to handle of I do go natural. Then I have to convince my mom. I mean she already thinks I’m nuts for wanting waist length hair at 16… but she’s trying to support me.

Help?
