You can use light natural oils like jojoba, almond oil, etc on your ends. The hair shaft can absorb these easier than heavy creams or oils.  You can also deep condition with cholesterol every week for a month, paying close attention to your ends.  This should make them less rough.

my ends are rough as well , although i had a trim around a month ago .. they dont seem to have split but they are really rough compared to the whole hair .. what can i do in addition to trimming ? is there anything i can use ?

Hair type: 4a or 3C<--transitioning
Hair length: 20"
goal:relaxer free healthy hair
Last relaxer: Sept 05

I suspected she needed a trim but she was trying tol et her hair grow until she was able to sit on it so she may need a trim. Thanx Alot.

All of the above  can cause rough ends. Has she gotten her ends dusted or trimmed ever? She might need to do that.

Natural: Blowdrying, hot combing, brushing improperly, combing impoerly, in need of moisture.

Relaxed: Relaxer damage, heat tools damage, brushing, combing, moisture.

Hair Type: 4a/3c Natural
Hair Length: Mid Back (growing out Layers)
Hair Goal: Long Layered Waist length/ Super Healthy!

I was braiding my cousins hair when I notices her ends were rough they weren't split just rough shes about 12 so when I told her she got really upset and scared so I called her mother who didn't understand and was of no help. So I took apon myself applied some carrot creme but soon they were rough again I added more to them four or five times what could have caused this?
