I have never liked a hard brush, only soft and medium brushes. I used a hard brush once when i couldn't find my own brushes and it felt like using it just made my waves disappear...

In my wave method I use a hard and soft brush for those same reasons, if you ever saw my first wave pics you would notice how crooked everything was cause I was using only hard brushes, then after I got that low cut and loss most of my waves I started using soft brushes and the started using both.
Yep yep, soft + hard = deep, straighten out connected waves

so i was just experimenting for a couple of months like 4,and that was the amount of periods i was a all soft brush user
so now i figured if soft brush striahgtens up waveas why not use it so i was like brushing my ass i was tired so now that i knew i strsighned it out it was hidden so i pull out my hardest brush a cuople of strokes
..........BAM lined up nice waves striaghned out my correltaion improved
so i knew that a hard brush OD - thinning
so i did the inverse theory
if hard brushes bring out croked waves why should i use it anyways so i used a soft to line up ,my existing pattern hard to briing em out
so if something not working do the oppisite
** NOT DOING THIS U WILL NOT SEE RESULTS FAST USE THE HARD TO BRING OUT THE WAVES **
