I dont see how you can mess you ish up. Just make sure the guard is on properly and keep your finger well away from the taper fade switch(the little lever thing on the side of the clippers). I learned that the hard way, clipped a big patch of my waves off, i didnt want to look like a psycho with half waves so i cut it all off and im startin again
