My hairstylist who always does my hair, did my perm. I don't know what happened, she's a wonderful sylist. I just have really strange hair. It wont take a curl ever.

Hmmm well depending on your hair's condition (elasticity, texture, etc) which is hard to tell by pictures but have a styist do a strand test at a salon to see if it can withstand a chemical process such as color. Just a quick glance at the picture and your hair looks overprocessed but pictures can be hard to see that.

I wouldn't recommend permanent hair-color at all. Probably best to go in with a demi-permanent similar to the blonde currently in your hair and then go over it with a clear coat such as Goldwell Colorance Clear to seal up that cuticle, add shine and preserve that color as long as possible for you.

You said you had a perm? Who did it? How long as was it? Did they know what they we're doing? I see no signs of a perm in your hair.

oh no, I wouldn't have done that. But I completly forgot that perms can remove colour.. so its kinda my own fault.. lol

Oh well, im hoping that I can find a hair dresser who can restore my hair and get it back to a normal colour so I can just leave it alone.

ahh ok.  Ive seen something similer on a girl before but that was because she permed about 2 days after coloring *ack*.

I didn't perm my hair right after colouring.. it had been a long time since my last colour job. But that last colour job was dying over highlights.

So the perm stripped out all my colour.. and left it that icky yellow-blonde as you see above.. We tried to put just a simple wave in my hair with the perm, and that didn't work. But leave it to my hair. I can't get a curl in it EVER. No curl will stay in my hair.. lol

they should be able to recommend what to do for fixing the texture as well, its hard to know over a computer :)

and just a thought, did you try to perm your hair right after a bleach/color?

I know it's fried, but as hard as many of you may find it, myhair has a huge bounce-back factor.

 

I don't know how many times (as bad as this sounds), that it has ben fried completly, and if I give it a month or two, it's pretty much like normal again.

 

This time is different because my texture of my hair has been changed as well. I have also found for my hair, that if bleached, it will stay weak and mushy for EVER. But if a colour is applied over the mushy areas, it quickly becomes stronger..

 

I'm just wondering how to improve my colour (which I know now), and texture.

your hair is in a very fragile state, it may seem strong to you, but it is obviously fried.  If you do decide to color do NOT do it at home, peroid.  I cannot stress that enough.  Go seek a professional that deals with hair restoration/color correction, they specialize in damaged hair.

The thing is, is that my hair is strong now. It may not look like it, but it's gone from being mushy and tangly, to being brushable and semi-soft again. It's been nearly 2 months since the fiasco. And I have had many trims and used deep conditioners every day since then.

 

The fact that it stripped my colour and ruined my texture bothers me. I want to do something about this now that my hair is in better shape. Can anyone please give me suggestions?

well as hard as it may seems but please dont dye ur hair , ur hair is in a bad condition already just dont make it worse , keep deep conditionning and maybe a hair cut then wait till ur hair be strong enough to put a dye on it

I need help. I've posted before.. but didnt get too much for help.

 

I recently had a perming disaster. The perm did absolutly nothing to my pin-straight hair, except fry it, and strip out my colour.

 

Now my hair is colourless, and looks see-through. It's texture is now terrible, and I don't know what to do. I want to dye my hair, but dont know if it's pointless or what. I want it as well to have a better texture.. any help? please?
