O/T, but flygirl I guess your name is Teri Lyn? Just caught my eye as that's my full first name too, and I even spell it like that, 'cept mine is hyphenated. I bet everyone always spells your wrong, too ;)
I haven't lost any of the ones that I have redone using a little
Proclaim underneath the shrinkie, so that is good news. Easier
and quicker still than pretipping.
Hey guys I really do hate to be the bearer of not so good news , but most of the longest extensions applied like this have fallen out. I am putting them back in the same way, but using a little Proclaim glue underneath the shrinkie. I will let you know how this holds up. The good news is that I haven't lost a single one of the shorter extensions.
Hi all I was not online yesterday. I am absolutely GUSHING over this hair .
Charlene is nothing short of amazing. I have had extensions now
going on three years, and just joined this board six weeks ago. I
learned more from a day with her than I learned the past three previous
years. She is so talented, knowledgeable, and creative. And even
more so she's a great person who has a lot of patience thank
goodness with a newbie like
me. She certainly has inspired and challenged me to learn and
practice . I will keep everyone informed of how it holds up and wears,
but so far I am in love with the Plastikhaar. Charlene if you
want to show the other pics from the side and front go ahead I don't
mind if people see my face. I got no less than 30 compliments on
my hair yesterday all from strangers.
Marie- you pin one tail up and leave the other tail down. Thread both hair and synth onto shrinkie. Heat. Bring down both tails. Presto!
Amm barbie- I was trying to figure out how you did yours in a very old plastikhaar shrinkie install post. You had gorgeous red hair with a mix of hilites. I couldn't figure yours out as I was doing flygirl's hair and somehow just concoct a 'new invention' in the process. Had I been more prepared given the right length hair and with the system drilled in my head prior to install, this look would have been to die for!
But I'm glad you all love my spontaneous 'install'!
And I will buy the Plastikhaar color ring too.
FYI- After sharing the plastikhaar website with my synth-lover client, I doubt she'll go back to prohair again. A spray of that bottle from Beyond Hair glistens this plastikhaar and looks and feel like the prohair. Thanks Sara!
I've never seen an install like that before. That's pretty damn inventive. Do you have the Plastikhaar rings, Cyber? If not, you will die over the selection of colors. There's like 150 of them or more and they all look like ribbons of candy.
I agree about the EZ Threader. I load that thing up and do hair blindfolded now.
wow that looks awesome, and the install looks interesting too. Is that bulk hair... not pretipped? It looks like it was just pulled through the shrinkie...not pretipped? Tell me tell me....
You mean this is a seller, Sher? Thank you
Yes this is bulk hair pulled through inside the shrinkie with 1 tail in and 1 tail out. No pretips. I have to say the Amm's threader is THE BOMB!!!
The tail technique is very similar to doing heat seals and pinchbraids.
OMG!!!! I'm going to install this with my THERMOFIBRE!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait
Hey that's wicked chick, I love it, how did you think of that idea to do the strands. Do they poke through at all xx
You love it? WOW! Thanks! Well I wasn't too crazy about the pretips flygirl made , so I figured, I need to try something neater without the tips showing. She made them with liquid gold and nail glue.
She had a variety of lengths. The longest plastikhaar is ideal. With the shorter pieces, I blown them out and razored it to blend.
Here is another , the synth is 1" covered with her hair.

What do you think of my lastest experiment? I swaped services {she did my hair and I did hers} with flygirl. She is a DIY and gave me shrinkies and plastikhaar. Since they are less time consuming than the heat seals and pinchbraids as well as less bulkier and less noticeable, I'm sure clients will favor these.
What do you all think? Do you think this is a 'seller'?
