I'm transitioning and I use the Oyin products. I love them. I use the whipped pudding for moisture and the Greg's Juice when I have my hair cornrowed in the front. I also have the conditioner and everything does smells wonderful. You can order from www.Oyinhandmade.com.

I tried the Guava honey balm after a wash and then I braided my hair up. When my braids dried completely they were super soft. I may have to get the larger size of this. Each sample is 1 oz and it's actually alot more than it seems. I have quite a bit left for all this hair on my head. But I also have some items to use up that are very similar ( ex. siso boto moisturizer)to this guave honey balm...so before i purchase more, I must use those.

I have also decided to keep my hair away from the nasty relaxer and go for a natural look . for now i have ordered some products from Oyin !!! i wonder if any one can give me some information/feed back on thoes . also i would like to know if cornrows , twists and braids are the only way or hair style for people who want to transition ?
thank you
I'm in love with Oyin's products. I've used the Whipped Pudding, Greg Juice, Shine and Define, and the Honey Hemp conditioner. I liked them all but the Whipped pudding and Shine and Define are my staples for right now. The S&D gives a really pretty glossy shine, it's perfect for my slick back ponytail that I wear everyday for a protective style. The Whipped Pudding is so awsome. It smells edible and is very moisturizing but not heavy. It always makes my hair soft. The Greg Juice makes my hair really soft also and it's good for freshening up curls. I'm hooked on oyin. Sometimes I just go to the site and gawk at stuff.
I want to try the honey wash. I heard it's good for a shampoo as well as body wash.....no sulfates at all. And I want to try the Grand Poo Bar as well.

I have never had the courage to go all natural but I did stretch my relaxer out and during which time I styled the hair with natural oils and mousse to encourage waves.

Hey girl! Nice to see another youngin like myself Jumping on the banwagon. Or whatever. I'm 16 and my last relaxer will be two years ago in November! Oh happy day. Trust me you will not regert it.
I started out with about 15 inches of relaxed hair. I cut off 3in just like you Renee and then I put in braids for three months. After that I went through this try to keep the new growth straight phases which almost drove me back to the forbiden cream.Ha! Yeah so don't even try to do that it will drive you mad. So after like three week I finally gave up with the straight thing and my momma out some cornrows in with my own hair for like 2 months and then twists for a month, single braids for a month all with my own hair. Then back in went the braids for another three months. Finally it was a year or 6inches when I said I would cut and a siad bye to my relaxed ends for good.
I was amazed and in love with my hair. I was so thick and healthy, It still is and always will be. So I think you should do it. Good luck!
Hair Type: 4a/3c Natural
Hair Length: Mid Back (growing out Layers)
Hair Goal: Long Layered Waist length/ Super Healthy!

well, you can either cut it really low the way most guys cut their hair if you dont mind. or you can transition which means stretch your relaxer for as long as you want. until your newgrowth is long enough for you to be able to style it. i first cut my hair to like 3 inches. with one inch being natural and the ends being relaxed. and i started trimming off the relaxed ends like once in a while. then i got braids to help it grow out more. go to nappturality.com and check out the transitioners thread. read on people's experiences and decide if you want to go natural or not. HTH!
