It looks like it's done by dividing the front hair into sections, then
twisting them back and joining them alternately with sections from
further back. As long as the sections in one row are midway between the
sections in the rows either side.
Not sure of the exact geometry of it but it looks like the first 'row'
has four strands, then the second has five, then the third has four...
Basically it looks like the following (try mapping it on paper):
row1 strand1 divided into two and joined to row2 strands 1 and 2
row1 strand2 divided into two and joined to row2 strands 2 and 3
row1 strand3 divided into two and joined to row2 strands 3 and 4
row1 strand4 divided into two and joined to row2 strands 4 and 5
row2 strand1 joined to row3 strand 1
row2 strand2 divided into two and joined to row3 strands 1 and 2
row2 strand3 divided into two and joined to row3 strands 2 and 3
etc
Looks like you could get into an awfffffffffffffffffful tangle if you're not careful though

I was wondering if anyone had any photos of a spiderweb braid/design. I saw a girl with it once and thought it looked really awesome, but it is almost impossible to find any pictures of it to try to figure out how to do it.
