Hello,
I flat iron my hair and I use Joico Straight Edge, about a dime size rub in your hand and apply from root up . Works really well, but don't use to much it can leave a bit of a residue. also try Nioxin SmoothingReflectives good too, good for coarse hair use when hair is wet after washing.good luck,

Your welcome. That sounds like a really good heat protectant. I might have to check that one out myself. Let us know how it works for you.

Most people actually use more product than they really need. I agree
with Pokahontas; I don't think the frizz ease is a protectant. When I
use serum my hair feels much better though and doesn't tangle as much
cuz it coats the hair. When I was younger I used half a bottle too but
once I cut that down my hair finally started to "behave" hehe.
Try a heat protectant. Alot of product houses make products
specifically for use with irons now, which is great! I don't know
exactly what is available in the US, but I think Garnier has one and
I've always liked their styling products.
Although, since you blowdry do you use a heat protectant before that?
Cuz if you do then that would probably be ok for ironing your
hair too and you would just have to apply it the one time.
Anyway, I'm not that experienced so I'm sure everyone else has better advice:) Good luck!

I've had that Frizz Ease relax stuff but I don't think it's a heat protectant though....I'm not sure. You may want to use some type of spray on heat protectant (I've used Paul Mitchell's, Heat Seal) all over your hair and using the serum on the last 3 inches like u said for extra protection. A spray on heat protectant will still leave your hair light and free like you like it because it dosen't have oils in it. Some of the ladies here could probably give you some more suggestions on heat protectants also. I always add a little extra oil or serum to my ends because it makes them come out so much smoother and straighter so I know exactly what you mean about that and also about the light and free hair...this is probably because you are using very little oil or serum to weigh the hair down.
As far as applying it everyday or not I"m not too sure, I don't flat iron every day or even every other day but if I did I would probably use one. HTH
hey guys,, this is kinda complicated but ill try as
best i can to make it clear,,, For about 3 yrs now after
blow drying i've added a LOAD( like a half bottle each
time) of serum(frizz ease relax) and then flat ironing
which always made my hair very flat and kinda dry
but i felt it protected it,, anway i recently discovered
that my hair is light and free when i dont do this but
just add a smaller amount of serum to my last 3
inches then ironing,, and dont add anymore serum
all week,,, is that enough of a heat protectant to go
about the rest of the week flat ironing with or do i
need to add more each day,, and do i need to use a
great deal of serum ,, whats a decent amount,, cuz i
know i was using too much b4 but i dont wanna risk
damage from not using enough just cus it looks
better.... im so confused about this,, cuz i used a
bottle every week pratically for 3 years now.... sigh
any advice is helpful:-)
