After using Motions for years and years I switched to Affirm the results being so-so for straightness as I have extremely thick but soft hair after awhile(6-8 months) it just did'nt do the trick and I had continuous shedding so next came Mizani and the results have always been great since switching.
They say that hair is ones crowning glory..With or without it I am still a QUEEN!

Hey! I'm looking for a relaxer that will just loosen my curls, tame
frizz and make my hair easier to blowdry. I want to get extensions put
in, but I wanted to put straighter ones in, so I need something that
will make my hair easy to straighten but isn't permanent.
I used wellastrate about a year ago, I didn't like it cuz I couldn't
wear my hair curly, but about 3months later all my curls came back. I'm
looking for something like that but a little bit milder. And I haven't
been able to find the phytorelaxer out here. Are there any other
suggestions?
Thank you!

Yeah, that makes me really nervous. I waited 9 weeks before relaxing- I was trying to go for 10 but I was getting a lot of shedding and breakage and decided that I shouldn't wait any longer. But I also got really sloppy when I did finally relax so I'm praying that I didn't do too much damage . I guess only time will tell. Let me know about Affirm if you end up trying it...
Girl I don't know because I started waiting 2 weeks after I got a relaxer to wash my hair and it still did the same thing....my friend said that Affirm is a really good relaxer so I am looking for a stylist that uses that. You might be right about it being more of a texturizer or my friend said that it might not be strong enough maybe its for ppl with coarse hair.....

I've noticed that as well, blackhoney, but I was thinking that it was because I wet my hair with product within that first week after relaxing. Even though I didn't wash it, it was still getting wet from Surge, Infusium, S-Curl, and stuff like that so I thought maybe the products sort of reverted the relaxer. This time I flat ironed my hair and forced myself to not get it wet at all (that was real hard because I didn't know what to do with my hair- I didn't want to flat iron it again) but somehow I managed. I guess Mizani is almost like a relaxer/texturizer but I don't know. I'm not familiar with a true texturizer and how the hair comes out but I've heard that it gives a more wavy finish as opposed to straight and that's how my roots are. It also makes it more difficult to differentiate between the new growth and the relaxed portions (again, at least for me)...
I use mizani too but like grow hair grow said it doesn't get your hair bone straight and I don't think that it last that long either. My hair seems to snap right back after I wash it

I use Mizani and I like it. I switched from no-lye to lye a few relaxers ago and have found that the Mizani doesn't get hair bone straight, but it's not good for the hair to be relaxed to a lifeless state anyway. It's harder for me to tell new growth now because the lye relaxed parts are wavy (again as opposed to straight straight- hope that makes sense). But Ive been happy thus far...
Mizani if I go to the salon (only when I havent had a relaxer in over a year or more) and Silk Elements Regular relaxer when I do at home applications (which was like 2 times a year if that) HTH
I use Designer's Touch and I love it. Even when its time for a visit to the salon, my hair is still very very manageable...which is great considering how thick my hair is!
