QuoteReplyTopic: First shrinkie Installation Posted: October 02 2005 at 10:05am
I orderered shrinkies from Amm and this will be my first installation too. I had heat seals and fusion as well as weaves. I will be using shrinkies at the bottom and liqid gold at the very top to hide the shrinkies. I have terribly short hair. This method has been a show stopper with other methods. Are shrinkies harder to cover than fusion and heat seals? Do you think that this will work?
Sorry bumblebee for asking a different queston. I am a newbie. Should I have started a new thread?
They were put in to close to scalp . You need to make sure there laying flat and not so close. They can put to much stress on your hair and pull to much. It will grow out fast in a week they will grow and strart laying flat. But next time try to put them a bit lower.

I had my hair installed yesterday and my regular cosmetologist helped and she did a great job. It was the first install for both of us.
On the first row or two before she really got the hang of it, the shrinkies are not laying as flat as they could or should be, just a little poofy. Now the poofiness is not something that you can see but I can feel it if I press my hands on my head. Nothing feels tight or uncomfortable. I could be wrong but a correctly installed shrinkie to a section of hair should be similar to a low ponytail as opposed to a ponytail that lies higher on your head...does that make sense...the shrinkie was applied holding the section of hair at a more angled outward direction (creating slight poofiness) instead of holding the hair section in a more downward direction (enabling a flatter install).
Here's my question...could the poofiness cause any problems...possible damage to my hair etc? My natural hair seems in good shape, no chemical processes, etc. Should I remove them and reinstall them flatter? This morning they feel less poofy. Like I said they are not uncomfortable or tight and you cannot see the poofiness from just looking at me...my hair is dark and wavy so it does not show.
