QuoteReplyTopic: shrinkies easier 4diyer than mlinks? Posted: October 03 2005 at 9:32pm
Hi Kirsty. I thought shrinkies were easier only because I had
such a terrible time removing microlinks. I think installing is
about the same level of difficulty. Actually, links might be a
little easier to install because there's no fear of burning your
fingers. But the removal drove me nuts! So, I prefer
shrinkies instead.
ETA: I didn't have the ring opener--just pliers--so that may really help with removal.

I have found that my shrinkie and microring installs take about the same time. But I do not use microrings I use dinkie links, dinkie links open and close much easier and they are alot less bulky and a whole lot less visiable. Also with the dinkie links you can put huge pre tipped strands in them because the more filled they are the longer they last. I use the ring opener from hisandher and I have never had a problem opening the dinkie links with the opener.
are shrinkies easier for a diyer? i bought some mirco links and some tools to do it and tried to install a few. i did a few but got sooo bored. my hair is really thick think it would take me years with the microlinks. i also got really scared that i was hurting my hair and when i clamped down was worried my hair was breaking underneath - i guess you dont have that problem with shrinkies in that you just melt it down.
but generally speaking are shrinkies any easier / quicker to do than micro links?
