Well sistaslick...some people transition after they have reached their goal of long hair..maybe you are one of those. But when it's calling you will answer, I'm sure. Your hair is beautiful still.
I did the first time I stretched to 20 weeks, but maaaaaan I just couldn't handle it. See I am one of those folks that "needs" to have long hair b/c I've never had it so I'd have to transition without a BC and so far its just not working in my favor.
cmesweet-- you know I LOVE your updates and HAIR!!! I think stretching my relaxers now is really helping me get ready for that one stretch that doesn't end Seeing hair like yours really gets me to thinking about heading down that transitioning road one more time.
Thanks everyone, yeah I met alot of people in my city who wanted to know the first steps to going back to their natural texture. For some, they have been relaxed their whole life and would like to see what their hair will do without the chemical. For others, you just do it for the love of yourself. But I do understand that lots of people who relax do love themselves but like the look as an option for them, for others it's like a burden to even be born with brown skin let alone kinky hair.
So, don't be scared! Ya'll have us here for support. I know the road to transitioning isn't easy because it took me 2 times before I knew what I was suppose to do and actually didn't set myself up for expectations that I couldn't acheive. So thanks everyone, onceagain, for the compliments and for the Arabic lessons.

Wow, you guys are soo sweet! Thanks for all the info, I'm going to have to decide where I wanna move my pictures.
Renee- Mashallah is what you say when something is really nice or
beautiful, etc..like 'wow you're hair looks GORGEOUS- Mashallah!' It
actually is supposed to ward of the evil eye. But everyone just uses it
as a compliment.
Inshallah means 'God Willing'. So you say it when somethings going to
happen. Like 'The wedding is on the 7th of October, Inshallah'. OR if
you're like my dad, you can use it a 'maybe'. Like 'dad, may I please
borrow your car?' "Inshallah"
And that concludes our Arabic lesson of the day :)

I see so many natural heads now everywhere I look..and
it's all so beautiful! I was looking thru the current Fall Essence
magazine and most of the women spotlighted or in advertisement had
natural hair--fros, locks, twists, cornrows, etc. Gorgeous!
Ahhhh....maybe one day!+
Anyway....
I think it might all be part of the whole 'embracing yourself as you
are' thing. Like the Dove Real Beauty campaign. People (and by people I
mean the media:) ) are realising that they are setting impossible
standards for women and that eventually we're going to rebel! Its
happening, slowly, but hopefully we'll get there!

fotki isnt free when you need to have a lot of pics on there. so what people do is delete old pics and replace with new ones. i got tired of doing that so i changed to myphotoa;bum.com. CME, PM me your p/word please aseya.....is it Mashallah or Inshallah?
