A filler is what a person would need to use if they were going from a lighter color like a blonde to a color 2 levels or more darker. It is how the underlying pigment that is in the cortex of the hair is put back into the hair strand. Without the proper underlying pigment in the cortex of the hair strand the haircoloring product your haircoloring you put on your hair will turn into a hair coloring disaster and you could end up going to the salon where it will cost you $150 or more to get it fixed.

That orangeish that you see is the underlying pigment that is being taken out by the bleach you applied. Fillers come in 3 colors.....RED, Orange and Gold. You need to fill that bleached hair with Red....the darkest of the underlying pigments if you want to go back to a darker color. If you don't apply the filler your hair will remain orange. The more chemical processes you do to your hair the more you damage your hair.

80% of the color I do in the salon is corrective color.

Bleaching is NOT permanent but the procedure to return to a darker color is called a Tint Back or Corrective Hair Color. Bleach won't fade as the underlying pigment has already been removed from your hair. It's best to have it done at a salon by a professional but if you do want to try it yourself.....it would go something like this....You removed the underlying pigment from your hair so before you can go back to black you need to use a Filler to put that pigment that you just removed back into your hair. Use a red filler then put the desired color you want onto the hair you want to color. If you do it to that part of the hair that you discolored then color it to the rest of your hair that's fine but then after it processes and you rinse it out of your hair take the rest of the remaining haircolor that is unused squirt a few squirts of Shampoo for color treated hair....Yes you must use a shampoo for color treated hair otherwise it will be too harsh on your hair. Mix the shampoo with the remaining color and put it thru your whole head....It's what is called a "Soap Cap" for 3 - 5 minutes....ABSOLUTELY NO LONGER THAN THAT I'd recommend 3 minutes from my experience and comb it thru after you apply it....leave it on for 3 MINUTES it will pull the colors closer together and refresh the color on the whole head to balance the color throughout the entire head.

Rinse it out and shampoo the whole head then condition your hair and you should be good to go.

G'luck
