I like the flat clamp because it's very small. I have small hands so it's a really nice fit for me. The only thing about the flat one is that while it's dual heat, one side or the other will power down opposite of the other and then reheat back up. I find it's not enough of a power down to affect an install at all.
The grooved ones are OK, too, but I personally have seen no advantage to the grooves. I prefer the least expensive one that's at the bottom on my site. It's not temperature control. It's a little bigger than the flat wand but it's still a nice compact unit.
The shrinkies I offer shrink down into a tight cylindrical shape no matter if you use a flat clamp or the grooved one.
i have the grooved one, it works really well with the shrinkies bc
really they dont loose any shape, i think they would stay cilindrical
anyway they are heated. im actually not sure why i bought the grooved
one, i havent found the benefit of it, so if i had known i would have
opted for the cheaper one. maybe the grooved one is best on
fusion....hmmm maybe someone could help me out too ;)
Hiya! I am crosseyed from reading archived posts--so much good info!
Anyway, I am going to order a heat clamp from www.shrinkies.net and I was wondering if the flat one is better than the one w/ the little groove for heating the shrinkies? I haven't found an old post regarding this yet. Or do they have the same effect?
