Mine used to last 8 weeks, too. She put a few stitches on the braid itself before sewing on the weft so it wouldn't slip. 4 or 5 evenly placed stiches I think. At first, she didn't do the stiches and they would slip a bit and last about 1 month. I used to worry a bit about breakage during the 7th and 8th week due to the weft beginning to hang on the grow out but I don't think I ever had any from that.
Yeah, the lady who did my weave was super skillful at doing them on caucasian hair, so they lasted a really long time. I met her while I was going to beauty school. She could braid just about anything!
thanx metal girl, when I used to wear sew-ins I never had to have them retightened. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't give anyone bad info about not having to have them tightened. Wow they lasted 8 weeks? I had to have mine redone every 4 weeks, which is why I no longer wear sew-in's.
