Hairspray I know srtips colour out slightly, but ordinary hair serum hasn't effected my colour.

Some silicone based hair products could effect the end result and possibly cause uneven coverage. I don't know what hair serum is though sorry. For best results always work on a fresh clean head.

I haven't tried it without several products in my hair. I always wait at least 24 hours after washing and I NEVER go around without something (at least 3 somethings) in my hair. Bottom line......I'd be interested to know, too.
