Hey Purplebudda

For elastics I use shower curtain ring clips, I thread the elastics on them and as they can turn I can always pull of the elastic in the size and colour I want, they come in metal light bulb shapes which I find perfect, as I travel alot I don`t end up with elastics all over my bags.

For metal clasp type clips, I have an old piece of fabric that I have put a holder on the end so it can hang it and then I clip the clips on it as if the cloth was my hair. They are hang neat and tidy and I don`t have to go digging in a box or bag for them, plus they don`t scratch on each other. They are also on view so I can just grab the one I really want.

My hair sticks are in a nice glass like a swizzel sticks. My hair bands are stacked so that the top is upright in a box, so I can see the colour and thickness and they are all stacked together so they don`t end up catching elastics and pins etc.

For my bobby pins, I use an old prescription plastic bottle, I can take them with me when needed and it keeps them clean until my next use. The top doesn`t come off easy either so you don`t end up with bobby pins all over.

The only thing I don`t have really organized is those little wee butterfly clips and hair nets. They are messy anyway and I just stuff them in a see through cosmetic bag so that I don`t have to dump it out to find it.

I was in the military so if you think I`m obsessive, I`m really not, I just don`t like to waste time digging for things and I really don`t want to rinse things I put in my hair before use if you dump everything in a huge container.

Maybe this can help a lot of other people organize their stuff as accessories can be pricey and there is nothing worse than being at an air port and raining bobby pins and elastics all over the floor when just wanting to tie your hair back to get it out of you face. I also loop a couple of good elastics around the handle of my travel hair brush so I don`t have to dig at all, they are right there.

Good luck to everyone and let me know if you have any time saving measures of your own

Thanks
Lori

Hey Purplebubba -

I found some containers at Wal-Mart. They come in different sizes: 8 x 4 x 3 and 4 x 5 x 3 are the ones that I have. They fit perfect in my bathroom drawers. You really have to hunt for them, cause they are so small. They get lost in all the other RubberMaid stuff.

Keep Smilin`
Dorothy :)

On another message board someone started a thread about Hair Toy storage ideas.

I was wondering what you all use to store your Clips, Tail Holders, etc?

Or if you have ideas for storing them?
