What am I doing wrong?  What can I buy to help.

P.S he gets his hair w/c every two weeks then in braids and his beautician said to try Eucerin that maybe its Excema I will have his doc look at it next week but I thought it was just dandruff

This sounds like a condition known as cradle crap.  When I was small I suffered with this.  My mother had to wash my hair with a prescription strength shampoo containing a large amount of tar and zinc pyrthione.

Monet,

I have two dry, scaly spots on both temples.  Hair isn't growing in them, and at certain times of the year (and whenever I get a touch-up) they go completely white, and a few days later, the skin comes off in flakes.  Those are the most visible spots, but apparently I have several of them on my scalp.  It's eczema.  In all honesty, the only thing that worked for me was to stop looking at them.  Medicated ointments/tar shampoos/stressing about them didn't help, but one day after I hadn't thought about them for a while, I checked them out and the skin was looking pretty normal again.

I also get the occasional scalp pimple, but they don't do much harm.  Try to keep your son from scratching his spot if you catch him doing it around you.  I hope it clears up soon.

It's good you will be taking him to the doctor.

Monet- Understand the itchy situation, I have a small patch of eczema, my cousin has it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL over hher body. Anything that makes you itch till your skin bleed, is suffering to me. That's all, because it's not fun having to scratch an itch that just won't go away, especially when you are a child.

Not to worry, just letting u know what I meant.

Hmmmm......i'm not too sure hon.  I don't want to tell you something wrong to put on your baby's hair.  The sulfur could possibly be clogging the pores.  With some scalp irritations they tell you not to put anything on the scalp.  Just wash with a mild shampoo and let the hair air dry so the scalp can get some air.  For the sores you could possibly try some vitamin e or neosporin to help them heal until you can see the doc.  You mentioned he gets his hair braided.  Do you think they could be too tight?  You may want to give his braids a rest for a while and see what happens.  I know when I get cornrows I sometimes get sores or pimples around my hair line where the hair is being pulled.  I had a really bad one near my ear the last time I got braids and it stayed there the whole time I had them in but when I took them out it healed up fine and never returned.  HTH

Yeah, since there are sores present I would definitely take him to a doctor or a dermatologist.
