Peroxide princess had some good advice but also know that porous hair absorbs cool tones first so if you want those nice warm colors you are going to have to adjust your formula to boost the warmth. I agree with peroxide princess on the G or GB in a professional color. 
There is software that will formulate a foundation color for you and avoid these problems.  It is very easy to use and will warn you about filling and control.  email me if you would like the link

Becareful using tide you can buy clarifying shampoo that will help it fade just the same or even mixing a little baking soda with your shampoo to make a paste will work as a clarifying shampoo also. If your hair dresser made your hair ash when you wanted gold you shoulda had her fix it. I wish I could help more but Im not that familiar with non-professional color. I recommend anything with a G or GB on it professional color wise

try washing your hair with tide washing up liquid and deep condition untill the ashyness fades.

Then apply a medium golden blonde toner to your hair and see how it turn out..

I  AM NATURALLY GREY ( FORMALLY DARK BROWN )

I HAVE COLOURED MY HAIR BLONDE USING A PRODUCT CALLED BLONDE (CLAIROL)

THIS CAME OUT VERY YELLOW AND I FELT AS IF I WANTED TO BE MORE GOLDEN BLONDE

SINCE THEN I HAVE TRIED MYSELF AND ALSO MY HAIRDESSER HAS TRIED TO PUT SOME GOLD INTO MY HAIR

MY HAIR WILL ONLY ACCEPT ASH TONES AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH ASH / GREENEY COLOUR

THE ONLY WAY I CAN CHANGE THIS IS USING THE BLONDE PRODUCT AGAIN

PLEASE COULD ANYONE RECOMMEND A PRODUCT TO HELP ME PUT SOME GOLD INTO MY HAIR
