In the November 14th issue of "US" magazine, there is a picture of Nicole sporting a shoulder length bob.  Her hair has been blown straight.  Here's a wireimage link showing her curly but shorter (you'll have to scroll down past the fashion pictures)

That is an exceptionally bad pic, yes.  She does look weird now, but not usually quite that weird -_-; .

She looked so much better as a redhead, I loved her hair in Practical Magic. I don't like her as a blonde.

While nice to see the longer, tousled hair, this particular hair style does her no favors and only emphasizes the large forehead.  Plus the color is weak and washed out.  She was always better as a redhead and also, wear something a bit warmer than black.
