my thing is this, if your brushing everyday you should put something in your hair everyday except pomades(shouldn't be used everyday). thats what i do, i put carrot cream in my hair everyday,  and to prevent the build up i brush in the shower to get most of it out in the morning and this cuts down on how often i have to shampoo
