How many of you have a fringe/bangs?

I had these two really thin pieces of hair at the front of my head... surrounded by a lot of thin wispy damaged stuff... so I kind of chopped it a little bit last week.  I'm not too terribly sure whether or not I like it... it's still about an inch below my chin, but because there's no weight anymore now they try to curl and it looks stupid.  I still wouldn't call it a fringe or anything.  They fit into a ponytail.

I think I'm going to make one final trip to a hairdresser just for some final styling stuff before I start seriously growing my hair out... get the dry ends off and possibly a more angled "fringe" or bangs or whatever... I originally grew out my bangs in grade 8.

What are your pros and cons for having a fringe? ie....why do you want to grow it out and why do you want to keep it?

Im new to the forum here and was just reading your question for the hairspray that doesnt give flakes? I dont know how the sugarwater went but Im from australia too and i use Schwarzkopf Silhouette laqueur, or the silhouette flexible hold hairspray. They definately wont give you flakes, and they're only about 8.95 for a can,

ps. have you been holding the nozzle too close to the fringe, i know that will give you flakes for sure!

I have a fringe type thing.  It's asymetrical, starting just below the middle of my right eyebrow, over to the bottom of my left ear.  I usually wear it over to the side, but if I'm going out punky (as opposed to being tidy in work) I brush it down over my eyes.  (Kindly note I'm 17 and can still get away with this lol)

I have a fringe because I have issues with my hairline (widow's peak).

That sugar spray sounds good.  I have a friend always tells me to wear a mohawk for a laugh (this would not be safe) maybe this would be the way for me lol.

SUGAR WATER HAIR SPRAY

Ingredients
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 to 1 cup hot water (less water for a thicker spray)

Dissolve the sugar in the hot water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle, and spray on the hair. (You’ll need to soak the spray nozzle in hot water to dissolve the sugar crystals between uses.)

Caution: Don’t use this hair spray when you will be outside and could attract bees and wasps. If you have a teen at home – or if you are a teen – pay particular attention, because you may just find out how it is that some people can make their hair stand straight up on end for a whole day of school, and this technique doesn’t even take toxic chemicals to accomplish the feat!

I think I will do a little experiment: use only one type of hairspray for a week and see if it is the one causing the flakes.  Simple right? I'm hoping I can find one that doesn't make flakes though....I NEED that little bit of hairspray!!!
