Amanda- This woman has hair that is quite similar to mine(in curl
pattern and stuff). And I REALLY think those are extensions (I'm no
expert though) I think if they were styled a bit better and stuff it
would look pretty good and well blended. But I just wanted post the
link so that you could see if that was similar to what you were looking
for and then it might be easier for you to find.
Does anyone know what kind of hair that is? Please excuse the site, I
found it while getting daily celebrity blog fix :) Here's the link:
Hmm..although now that I look at it again, it seems to not match her
hair very well. It's less curly than the top. Does anyone know
something that would match the top? Would the glamour hair deep wave be
OK?
...it's true and it does make sense human hair is getting harder and harder to harvest. Imagine how long it takes you to grow your hair 18" to 30" long?... and then selling it for pennies?? Most of the hair comes from Asia (including India) and as those women become more & more "Westernized" they are coloring and perming their hair which renders it inferior for processing it for commercial use. Commercial human hair products are not only blended with Yak but it's also blended with synthetic fibers. Manufacturers don't have to disclose this information in order to label their products "100% Human Hair" as long as there is some human hair in the product. You can spend $1000 or more and get "Pure" human hair, but if you are spending $35 to even $200, you are likely purchasing a blend. The demand for human hair for extensions and hair pieces are higher than ever before...the supply has started falling behind. Yak is mostly used to texturize extensions to match Afro hair textures due to it's crinkled nature, but like I said, it acts like human hair and is "Organic" as opposed to synthetic.
I hope this info is enlightening to some!

Because its mostly urban legend. Animal hair is more expensive then human, so it makes no sense. For example a horsetail is a lot harder to come by in china then a head of hair, so why bother to mix and blend it, when all you have to do is texturize the hair?

To get that texture you are going to have to look for an "organic" blend of human and yak hair---the label may say 100% human but it will likely be blended with animal (it has to be to hold that spiral shape)
To get that texture you are going to have to look for an "organic" blend of human and yak hair---the label may say 100% human but it will likely be blended with animal (it has to be to hold that spiral shape) but you can still treat it like human hair (it will be coarse though)---try Bohyme.com's Brazilian Wave texture.
gsmilie, I have no idea. I've never tried that hair before but I read a
decent recommend on it from a person or two. I don't think I'd install
it so I'm going to make clip ins of it and see how it goes. I have
someone who wears her shouldler length hair kinda big so I think this
looks like a nice choice. Can't beat the price, too.
Ugh. Perms. I knew them well in the 80's. It was the only way I could
give my fine hair some volume.
I've had some really nice Indian remy with nice curl to it. If you're
looking to dye up to a nice medium brown with some lighter
highlights, Indian remy is always a great choice.
Amm, how does this fibre feel? Is is really course? Would you put it into you hair? (if you had lots of curls??)
I too am looking for some more curl. I have been using indian hair, and it has a nice wave, but I am looking to go curlier for the winter. I just gave myself a perm a couple of weeks ago, and I am looking for some new exten. hair.
Let me tell you, O/T, giving myself a perm was wayyyyyyyy harder then putting in extentions!!! It took me almost 2 hours to roll the hair. Talk about arm cramps!!! After I was done perming, I then put my extension back in, boy was I ready for a drink after that whole day!!!! Non stop hair day from 9am-5:20 pm.
Amanda- Would you be posting the photos of you client's hair on your
website? (Fab work, btw!!) I am also mixed and so far haven't really
found anything that would match my curls. It's like the deep wave(more
of an s patern), but the curls aren't as skinny. If that makes sense.:)
