Scattered blond extensions for short hair

Hi everyone

I am new to the forum but would like some advice if possible. I recently ( about 2 months ago ) had a hair disaster which has now been corrected to some extent. However, I have been left with short brown hair ( about 3-4 inches ) which is in an acceptable condition. My hair type is course, thick and wavy. I would like to have some blond extensions scattered throughout to break up the colour a little. I have already bought the hair and shrinkies, I am waiting for the LG and heat wand to arrive. The hair that I have bought is on a weft. I would like some advice on the best way to pre tip the hair and apply the extensions. I have read and learned loads from these boards but having never done this before I am still a little apprehensive. Any advice would be appreciated.
