Everyone is giving great advice about what you should consider. My comments only add to theirs. Yes, ditch your current stylist and find one that knows how to cut and style your curly hair. It may be wise to ask him or her what length would best go with the shape of your face.
Curly hair can be a lot of work as you know, but with the right cut, products (not cheapo junk grocery store products) and stylist, you should do fine. My hair is curly and long. The weight of my thick hair is good for me to stretch out my curls. When it is wet, my hair is to my waist, but when dry it is a few inches below my shoulders.
Good luck!

I gave myself a cut today and I think my hair was more controllable before, not that I did some major messup on my hair lol it's just more controllable when it's longer and one lenght..

Curly hair definitely looks good as your signature shows but better on women than men I think, BTW who's the girl in the sig? It reminds me of a celebrity but I don't remember who

I was born with a head full of thick ringlets. Just recently I cut my long hair short to chin length. I am now trying to grow it back to being long. Cutting it to chin length made me look like a moppet and Annie. I hate the look I got. That is why I am going back to long. My hair styler told me people with curly should not go long because it does nothing. Is that true. Does anybody have any suggest about this.
That is not true. Curly hair looks great whether it is long or short. It depends on what looks best on you and the amount of time that you have. You should ditch that hairstylist and go see one that actually knows how to deal with curly hair. I have very wavy hair with some spiral curls and I find that for me, I look better when I have it cut short and layered. If you look better long, then go long!
DANGER! I drive like you do.

I have very wavy /almost curly hair that I wear to my butt. The way my hair curls, however, it gets weighed down and the curls looks flat. That's why I usually wear it straight. Long, curly hair is beautiful though. Just look at my signature!
In my experience, having longer curly hair is much nicer, I have reasonably curly hair which was a bit more than 1/4 of the way down my back. One day I went to the hair dressers and thought "Why not have a change?". I got my hair cut about an inch above my shoulders *Cringe*. I can't stand my hair atm, its about 1 inch past my shoulders now, going back to my old length. Having longer hair when it's curly makes it a lot more controllable I think and I never used to have to use mousse or anything and it would stay neat (Although I'm sure that depends). Also I recently started straightening my hair, and I would love to have it longer seeing as I finally wear it down. Whey for long hair! Good luck with whatever you choose.
"You were the movie of my life, starring you instead of me"
Long curly hair looks fabulous, in my opinion. Of course, the weight of the length might drag out the curls into waves instead, but it's usually not that bad.
