I wash my hair once or twice a week and I always do a pre-shampoo with a hot oil treatment. I use a combination of oils such as jojoba oil, shea, vitamin e, coconut. My hair loves these natural oils, it helps to increase elasticity, strentgh, shine, and softness.
do u know where i can purchase jojoba oil because,i ve read about it and heard it was a good oil,so i been maybe wantin to try it.

My hair is very pourus and absorbs oil really well. (Eventually looks oily, then its time for a wash n set). I get much added elasticity and shine as a result. I do modified hot oil treatments which is where I appy a light dab of oil to the ends of my wet hair as I am setting on rollers (may apply a tiny bit to shaft or roots where necessary). As my hair dries, the oil seals in moisture and adds shine. I've used Hollywood Carrot oil and Carol's Daughter Khoret Amen oil (which smells to me like cloves and I love it). Not all oils feel good in my hair though. Some make it feel hard. These feel great on my hair wet or dry. Also love L'Occitane Oilive Hair Care Oil. Not sure about using it on my hair when wet though (maybe if I were washing afterwards).

I did do a hot oil treatment though.one time i used kemi oyl and i heated it up then put it in my hair and left on for 45 minutes then rinsed it out and shampooed it.the second time i did it,i used olive oil and my hair was dry.i really didn't see no benefit from this.what type of shea butter did you use?
I agree. I didn't get enough benefits from it to do it very often. I get more benefits from deep conditioning treatments than hot oil treatments. I used unrefined shea butter that I bought online at Nasabb.com. It's great shea butter by the way.

i love hot oil treatments. ive tried the vo5 ones as well as the cmesweet hot oil mixture. it's good stuff, in my opinion. for me, i got shine, softness, and some detangling out of it. i used to do them every week, now i'm slipping...i'll prolly do one later tonite though. i think it depends on your routine. if youre cw everyday, you prolly won't see a huge amount of difference when you do a hot oil treatment. hth.

I don't do them often at all because one time i did one and my hair came out dry as a bone. It probably depends on the oil used. Shea butter hot oil treatments are pretty good though. Just heat it up until it liquifies and apply a generous amount to your hair, put on a plastic cap and sit under the dryer of use a hot towel. I did this before I shampoo'd.
