The rappers gotta stop usin it, its gotta stop from the top and trickle down. U think the new age of self conscious intelligent rap comin in like Kanye n Common will help, but Kanye himself throws the N word round himself. Not sayin I dont personally enjoy the Gangsta rap, hmm and Id like to ask u all bout another topic, now I know bein only 1/4 black, n half Poly, I dont got like the most reason to be in diz, but my grandma much prefers to be called black than African-American, she always rantin "I WASN'T BORN IN AFRICA, TO BE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN U MUST BE BORN IN AFRICA AND BECOME A US CITIZEN" like a Swedish American, or Italian American. It's also a bit strange when pure Africans fill a form n it doesnt say black, it says "African-American" when they truly are not African American. Oh and I know u all don care, but when I fill out boxes it says "Asian/ Pacific Islander" WTF I HATE BEIN GROUPED WIT SOMETHIN IM NOT WTFWTFWTF
what is 1/2 poly? your grandmother like my grandmother along with approx 90% of african americans lack knowledge of self. we were taught from young that africans are nothing but a bunch of savages. never taught about the great civilizations of africa. we have been conditioned to hate africa and ourselves. i used to work with a lot of italians. these guys great grandparents were from italy only. those cats say they are italian, not italian american and no one questions them. why? knowledge of self, unity and pride. i know i wasn't born in africa. my great grandmother on my father's side was german hence my comlextion. when we say we are african american, we are saying citizens of america and descendents of africa. hope i didn't confuse you.

f**k out of here wiht that stuff nigga been out for years wat make u
think a internet boy gon stop the word nigga just beeing real
For real man, it's a word that has been used to describe our people in a negative way. We can't use it to describe ourselves too. I go to college with a bunch people from other countries. They look at us like we are crazy when we call each other the N word.
They ask why do you put yourself down? Don't you have any pride in your own race or culture?
Think about it........????

yeah man that N words gotta go i used it once when i strted this site den some da cats said that want tolerated then i thought bak and said dey right that was rong to use the n word
In my family that word was not allowed and still isn't till this day...However...the dictionary can have all the meanings that it wants too but it will never be able to express the feelings African Americans have when they hear it. When SOMEONE OF ANY RACE say that word around me, I ask them to not use it in my presence. It's as simple as that...that's a way to initiate the extinction of the N-word.
O yeah...I hate watching movies that throw the N-word around every 2 seconds...drives me nuts
It was started because of us and ends because of us
I like that! It is true. We have the power to stop it. Brush to Spin you have be positive man. They want us to think we can't stop it. You see only a few members consider themselve the Nword. But after I finish teaching them to have African American Pride and getting them to understand that they are putting themselves down, I'm sure we will all agree. Let's be real, the word is negative, and I don't want anything to do with negative. I want to be around positive people with a dream like MLK to overcome the hood mind set. We are bigger than the N word.

I was brought up in a home that used many curse words. But this is no ordinary word. It puts our whole race down when u say it so when u say it remember your bad mouthing yourself and others

good topic guys, I'm glad some of you are willing to step up and speak against it. Some people have let slip out too many times. They don't understand that people all over the world are reading these post and making negative judgements about African American young men. This is because we argue about calling ourselves the N word. What's to argue about. It's disrespectful and AGAINST THE FORUM RULES.
