I had the same problem in September last year when i had my hair chemically straightned with Redken Vertical. Do you know of any legal cases involving this stuff? I am currently seeking legal advice for my hair damage but am trying to find out if anyone has lodged a claim against Redken or the hairdressers that they had. If you put olive oil on your hair for 30 minutes before washing it, it tends to make it a lot softer and puts some shine back in it.
Sorry to hear this - I have been using Vertical for more than two years with really no problems, and I have been very happy with it. Once I did have some short breakage, also at the top, but never any hair falling out. Before the Vertical I used a thermal straightner for about a year (that was too straight for me!) and I color, so I am pretty brutal to my hair. I am obsessive about conditioning, I use Redken Butter Treat every time I shampoo and I try not to shampoo more than every two days. I think there are to strengths to the Vertical - one is milder for use on color treated hair, and this is the only strength I have used. Good luck...
OKay, I am new here, so someone tell me if I am posting this in the wrong place... I recently got my second straightener put on (roots only) my stylist used Redken Vertical. the first time he did my entire head, it was wonderful, but this time, I have patches that are gone down to the scalp!! I am not sure what to do about this, and wonder if it is normal??? My hair is (white) very curly, but a little on the thin side. Now I'm wondering if I am not able to continue straightening it chemically, how do I get my natural curl to come back without completely frying my hair!!?? Anyone have any similar situation, or advice?? TIA!!
