There arent many methods here available at my country as hair extension is not very common. But the hairdresser said he will replace any which is like spoilt or push the metal higher when it's going lower. He didnt mention any damage or whatsoever. With regular maintanece, it should last 6 months. Is that bad?

i agree- a full take down and re install is best with ANY method- do a search for all the methods and u will see good and bad with all of them, again as i have stated before, it all depends on WHO is doing your extensions and IF they care about your hair or your money.

Do NOT wear any extensions longer than 12 weeks or it is very likely you will damage your hair.

At the end of 12 weeks, remove all the extensions completely, comb out all shed hair and tangles, wash hair, and then reapply.  So not push up the metal.  Again, it's just asking for trouble.

I wouldn't be afraid that the stylist is hurting my extensions, I'd be afraid that he's ripping my hair out!  With extensions in, your natural hair has stress on it, so it must be cared for in a very delicate manner.

I'm new here and need some help. I currently have two types of hair extension- the bonding and mircroring. The first time I did was bonding but the hairdresser put too little hair and so I went to another salon to make it thicker. This time the hairdresser used the mircroring method. How long will they last? The hairdresser said it will last up to 6 months if I take good care of it and I go back to push up the metal when it's slipping down.

The second hairdresser i go to helped me to wash and blow dry my hair. But when he washes my hair, he washes it too hard until they hurt. I was wondering if it will make the metal loose or slip down even faster. And when he combs through my hair, he sometimes will accidentally comb through the metal. Recently I had prom and he helped me style my hair. He used curling tongs and really pull it hard. Will it spoil the extension? Im getting so paranoid now as I dont want them to slip down so fast. I also feel that the bonds are loosening.
