I'm just curious to know that if you dye your hair, does it make your hair start to fall out after a while? I never dye my hair, and as I'm writing this I'm dying my hair to a radiant ruby red, just for a change. I've only had highlights and one other all over hair color change, but does it change your hair permanently over time?? For example, does it change the structure/softness of your hair to something more damaging over time as it grows?? I don't know that much about hair care, so I'm just curious to know.
Does hair dye make your hair fall out after a while? NO if you know what your doing. Anytime you color your hair you are doing a chemical service which is damaging to the hair strands. If your coloring your hair get shampoo for Color Treated Hair. Other shampoos are too harsh and can strip the color from your hair. Hair Coloring comes in several forms. Permanent, Semi-Permanent and Demi-Permanent. Permanent is permanent....it will fade as it oxidizes but it's permanent. Semi and Demi are deposit only color that desosit color on the hair strands but over time they fade out. Demi lasts longer and if your hair is damamged or over processed where the cuticle which is the outter most layer of the hair strand is damaged, freyed or raised the demi color can actually stain the cortex of the hair strand so the color will remain for a very long period of time as the dye will stain the cortex just like a permanent color.
If there's one thing you must know it's that COLOR doesn't LIGHTEN previously colored hair.
For example lets say you colored your natural hair to a redish brown Level 6 or so. And it's summer and you want to lighten your hair to light blonde or put in blonde highlights. You can't just put more color over the previously colored hair. It will not lift the artificial pigment that was deposited from the first hair color it will only blend with it and actually turn out darker than what you previously colored your hair. This is a common problem I see people do to their hair when they don't know what they are doing. The only thing that lightens previously colored hair is bleach. Stylists like to call it lightener but make no mistake about it.....if they are lightening your hair they are BLEACHING IT.
Well I'm off to the salon...G'luck with yer color.
Oh and don't attempt to bleach your own hair...have it done professionally.
