I haven't tried the halo, but I wasn't too crazy about the taped in wefts.  I seem to be in the minority here, but for me, they were just too...flat.  It's kind of hard to explain.. but I always felt like I had a lot of hair but it was plastered to my head, whereas with strand by strand the extensions can 'move' so there is more volume, and the extra bulk of clip-ins and weaves gives some volume.  JMO.

Hey that looks great, what a difference a little hair can make!!!

I am very happy with my tape in's.  I put them in on Monday and have only had one problem with it.  I wet my hair in the shower on Tuesday and had one of the wefts come out.  But I doubled up my wefts on the tape, so it still has one weft on it and you can't tell at all!!!  I think that you really need to wait 2 days before you get your hair soaking wet.  I am going to wash it today, so hopefully there will be no problems.  I did a test section for about 2 weeks before I purchased and they stuck like glue!!!

I ordered mine from www.shrinkies.net and I am super happy with them.  They are also the best price on the web, and shipping is awesome, from the day that I placed my order to when I got them it was only 4 days!!!  Way to go Amm!!!!

It took me about 2 hours to put them in, and I put alot of hair in this time, I think that is what took so long, and the fact that I had to take care of my 3 kids at the same time.  But the removal is what I am really looking forward to, I'm sure it won't take me 2 hours like when I take LG wefts out!!

I wear a ponytail everyday, and you can't see anything, it just looks like I was born with all this wonderful long thick hair.  I will post a pic for you later this morning/afternoon.

So far, So good!!!  I am impressed with the ease of aplication and how light they feel compared to LG wefts which work great, but for the first couple of weeks it feels like you have a wig on because the glue is also stuck to you scalp.  As long as they stay in, I am a convert!!

Ok, the before is actually "styled" if you can call it that...

Ok...now, this is with the halo hair, with some of the hair (about a three inch section) taken out so that you cant see it in the hairline...I wouldn't want to run with it, but going to work, it serves a purpose, and it really makes it look (noticeably) so much thicker, which I love...btw, this isn't styled at all...I had woken up about 10 minutes before I took the picture...threw it in, thats about it...I like that part of it...which was why I was wondering if the tape in ones would be like this (my only worry is that it would show in a ponytail...what do you think?

Thanks gsmilie...

I guess mine is not quite as thin as some (its thin and kinda frizzy more than flat)...I like the halo because its so quick...havent had any problem with it falling off...but I down wear it when I'm running around...just at work...

The tape ins is the one I really want to try...do you have recommendations on where to get them...also, what is the price on those...it would be great to be able to wear them without having to take it out all the time...

Right now, my problem is that the little plastic wire in the back of the halo hair is sticking straight out, ugh...but I tuck it in, and otherwise I really like it, it is so quick to place...I've worn it every day for about two weeks and I know that no one has noticed...I think the kinda frizzy part of my hair helps that part...will try to post a pic if I can:)

I have worn Halo hair and it was terrible!!!  I could not get it to stay in my hair as it is very fine and thin.  I tried so many times but didn't want to go out with it in, as I was afriad it would just come off.

I tried clip ins about 12 years ago and had no success with them.

The only thing that works great for me is extensions, I have had GL's and loved them, had no trouble conceiling them and I wore a ponytail almost everyday.

I have also done DIY shrinkies and my first attempt was good when I wore my hair down, but when I put it up I had alot of shrinkies showing.  I chaulk that up to inexperience in proper placement and intend on installing them again real soon.

I am currently wearing tape in extensions and I so far love them, they are lightweight and invisible!!!  I wear a ponytail almost everyday as I am an aerobic instructor, so I am getting sweaty all the time.  I have no problems conceiling them, granted I can't wear a ponytail on the top of my head, but it is centered on the back of my head.

I would stay if you are starting DIY, I would go with the pro-tack tape and try it that way, it is easy to place and easy to remove!!  Just make sure that you don't put them in too close to the hair line so you don't have any problems wearing a ponytail.

Good luck, hope this helps you some.

Hi,

I have tried to wear the halo hair, but it didn't work for me either, because I couldn't disguise the halo where it went through my partline area.  My hair is super thin and fine.

I do however successfully wear wefts that I clip in.  I have 4 tracks that I clip and and I am able to conceal them very well, with a little teasing at the top on my head for coverage.

I have worn all kinds of extensions, but like these because I can take them out when sleeping and exercising.

As for keeping them in the hair, a long while back I wrote a tutorial on how to tease the hair and use hair spray to get these suckers to stay in.  I think that is in the archives somewhere.

I think that any hair wefts, no matter how applied, are more obvious in a pony tail than the individual extensions.

I have very thin hair, and really wanted to add some volume...didn't need length, just volume...I also didn't want permanent, because I often wear a ponytail to work out, and didn't want extension "shrinkies" ?? to be obvious...I cant understand how they would work in a ponytail of hair that is thin anyways...

about a month ago, I ordered clip in extensions and halo hair to help make it thicker...I used the extensions, which were definitely very good quality...but, my hair is too thin for them to clip in well at the scalp, so, they were pretty obvious...so, they are back in the bag, I've never worn them out...

however, the halo hair was really great...it was a circle of hair, and I had to remove some of it (around the "halo" so that it wouldnt be evident in my part in my hair)...but it really looks so thick...I've worn it to work the last two weeks, and now I think it just looks horrible without it...at this point, I hate taking it out...and the good thing is that it only cost $50...

Have any of you ever used it...I'm starting to want something more permanent, but the only thing that I think could work in my hair would be the the tape in extensions...

Have any of you ever used the halo hair?  What do you think of those compared to the tape in extensions...also, how obvious are tape ins in a pony tail?
