I use coconut milk in my prepoo's all the time.  I mix it with some Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner, honey, EVOO, and a thick conditioner, slap it on my hair and sit under the dryer for an hr.  It's divine.

this may be a little off the subject, but i know a girl that said in her family, when one of the girls are pregnant they consume a lot of coconut milk because their kids will come out lighter! weird huh? she is asian and im thinkin, wny do that when yall are not that dark anywayz? i have heard of ppl drinking carrot juice and having a more orange complexion, but never coconut milk to be lighter.

Cmesweet, you said you use it in a bath,i wonder if that will have the same effect. its all so weird to me

I've heard that before on another forum but I've never tried it.  I think I will try that next, thanks.  How long do you leave it in?  I'm thinking adding a little honey to it would be good also.

@princess_ I'm glad you liked the coconut rinse.  I did it again the other day and got great results again so I'm sure I will continue to do this often.

I leave it on for about 45 minutes.  I think I'm gonna try it with honey the next time.

I tried it in my hair before...it was ok. It did help with detangling. Most of all I loved it in my bath water...it was very soothing.

Sounds lik its worth checking into! But where do you get coconut milk?

I got it at Wal-Mart in the international foods section.  It's in a can.  I was thinking it was gonna be the consistency of regular milk but it's not.  It's kinda thick like egg nog or something.  I was reading up on it and I found out that it has growth properties and it's good for the scalp.  I plan on doing this at least once or twice a month.

I tried something different this weekend.  Here's what I did:

Did an ACV rinse

Washed my hair with coconut milk

Co washed with DDTA

Did a protein treatment with Ion rebuilder and sit under the dryer for 20 minutes

Rinsed with coconut milk again

Conditioned with Finesse

I read that some Asian and Hawaiian women wash their hair with coconut milk so I tried it a few times and I really like it!  It smells so good and it conditions your hair also.  It's kinda messy but it feels really good when you wash with it.  I think co milk has a very light protein in it also.  My hair came out so shiney and moisturized.  When it dried it was really soft. The coconut milk has oils in it also so it's very moisturizing.  My hair just came out different (in a good way) after i did it this weekend.

Do any of you ladies have any natural products that you've used with good results?

I've also done honey rinses with very good results.  I will be doing both of these again for sure. And they're both cheap too.
