Purchasing hair dryers

I used to ALWAYS blow dry my hair EVERY single day and it was never a problem for me (even when I had perms), and I did it for years. My hair is fine -- fine hair tends to be more delicate. I guess this info really doesn't do you any good though because everybody's different. Anyway, I try to be more careful because my hair is bleached. I air dry as much as possible and only run the dryer through for about 30 seconds to give it some fluff and get rid of any dampness, before I run the curling iron through it. I have an Ionic dryer and I don't see any difference between it and a regular dryer, though I don't care because I didn't buy it because it's Ionic. Mine has a diffuser on it which I love. I will never go back to a regular dryer again. I would think the diffuser would be safer because it's not concentrating the heat on only one particular part of the hair. Mine's a Vortex dryer and cost about $20. Not bad at all in my opinion.

Ionic styling tools are predominantly used for smoothing the cuticle layer of the hair strands. If you are looking to blow dry your hair with curl you wouldn't use an ionic product. If you want a smooth, sleek look then ionic products is what you would use to blow dry that style straight.

You can achieve the same smoothing action using a regular blow dryer and an ionic brush instead of spending more money for an ionic dryer. The same results will be achieved. Ionic brushes unlike the regular round barrel burshes don't retain heat.
