Yeah, you want the I-tip. The elite hair I think is on a weft, so you could
cut it off and tip it yourself, while I have never did that, I can't imagine it
would be a fun process....So if you can, you might want to stick with the
pre-tipped to begin with.
What Tjoh said is true. Just becareful with them, love them! Condition
them, comb them, take care of them ALL the time, it's worth it!
Otherwise, goodluck with everything! It's fun doing it for the first time,
frustrating sometimes, but fun! And when you are done, you will become
ADDICTED!!

Thank you SO SO SO much for your input! I really appreciate it and you saved me from making a really big mistake because I thought I was supposed to order the U-tip strands!
Thanks so much!

Hi there! I just had shrinkies extensions put in and I love them. Here's what I've learned so far:
Make sure you get the pretipped hair that looks like a shoelace tip (not the U shaped). I have fairly thin, straight hair and used 200 tips of the lush and ended up putting about 50 more in from some wefted hair that I cut and pretipped with liquid gold. I would suggest just getting 300 tips to be safe and that way you might have extra.
I would also note that you might want to take 2 tips and double them up, meaning you just tap 2 with the wand and roll them between your fingers and viola, bigger pieces of tipped hair!
Don't install them too close to the scalp. Leave some space or else they hurt like hell.
Oh and use the adhesive lined shrinkies. The unlined ones slipped out of my hair even with the pretipped hair.
Section the hair in even rows and don't go too high or you'll see them poke out at the crown of your head.
I also higly suggest having a friend there with you to help you with the back of your head. I thought my arms were going to fall off. I worked it out with a friend so that she installs mine and then I do hers :)
Condition your hair alot, but don't get it on the bonds.
You could always get some boyhme hair in wefts and pretip it yourself...?
Oh and have a glass of wine while you're doing it, it makes the whole process much more enjoyable
Good luck and (dramatic echo) "May the hair force be with you"

I am SO glad I found this board! It is SO informative!
First off, this will be the first time I am doing my own hair extensions, I have done the clip-in extensions, but I am ready to move on up, lol, and I am excited!
I have thin hair which seems to never grow! I want to add volume AND length! My hair now is currently shoulder length with layers. I had (as I read many others did as well!) a bad bleaching experiance and have broken pieces on the top layer of my hair, they are a couple of inches long, but not even with the rest of my hair!
I have read a lot of info on the board and just needed some of your trusted input and opinions. First off, I want to use the shrinkies method. I was going to purchase the Shrinkies DIY starter kit from Shrinkies.com. I am not 100% sure if I am purchasing my hair from there yet or not. I had LOVED the lush*hair but they didn't have a light enough shade of blonde for me, no where near! If anyone knows where i can get Lush Hair in a light blonde shade PLEASE let me know!
I also would like Pre-tipped hair. My confusion there was I don't know if I am supposed to use the I or U/Nail shaped tips.....can someone please tell me what to use!!
And also, if anyone from Shrinkies, or someone who has purchased from there could help me out here, I would really appreciate it! I looked into their Elite Remy hair but wasn't quite clear on if the 1.9 - 2 oz. bulk bundles were pre-tipped OR how many strands (if pretipped) came in a bulk amount? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
This is all so overwhelming! I appreciate any help you can give me! Keep up the great work guys!
