Caring for fusion extensions

I'm about to install a full head of fusion extensions on myself.  I've done fusion highlights before when I had longer hair, but nothing else.  Since I've never had them done in a salon, I'm wondering what's the recommended care for them, what products are recommended, etc.?  I spent quite a bit on the hair and want it to last as long as possible.

I'm also worried about dry scalp/dandruff ... I never get it normally, but during the three weeks I had extensions with shrinkies, I had terrible dandruff (I guess because I wasn't able to properly brush and scrub my scalp).  Does this go away after a while?  Is there a way to prevent it without putting conditioner on the fusion bonds (I understand that's bad)?
