um hi will colar fix take out black out of my hair well it was a accident i wanted mocco brown and got black im never dyeing my hair again i hear black is hard to get out oh does baken soda help someone told me to mix bakensoda with shampo . i dont wont to have to strip it its in pretty good shape since i started useing garnea frutice for colar treated hair it helps it it feels great wish i could say the same thing bout the way it looks i hate the way it looks      i just turned 16  mabe by the time im 17 itl look better ill aprecheiait any edvice realy worried here

It is better than bleaching, but not by much. 

It just depends on what you are aiming for, then you can decide which one is more suitable/effective/damaging.

Noey~

 Sorry~ to also answer your question about Color Fix~ from what has been explained to me~ No, it is not a bleach.  It disolves oxidated dyes in your hair so that they wash out without bleach~ which is why it is better than bleaching.  It IS a chemical process though, so it is still damaging.  They say it is just less damaging than bleach.

Hope that helps a bit.  (I can mail you the rest of my Color Fix if you want~ I have over half a kit left).

I'm not sure what to say about your Color Fix question with respect to whether your colourist did the right thing~ as you know~ I'm nowhere near being a pro!

As you also know~ you and I are in the same predicament~ mine just a couple months more recent.

Regarding the brown and lowlights in my hair~ I did try to wash the colour out of my hair with Neutrogena Clarifying shampoo and it made a difference (plus I was in Mexico for a week last week which the sun helped).  Colour is now a VERY brassy, golden blonde with grayish streaks and dark roots (lovely & attractive~ I know! *laughing*)

I tried using Color Fix last night on one strip of hair behind my ear and did the 'slight correction' method (mixed with shampoo and left it on about 5 minutes). It really didn't do much other than dry that hair out.  I suspect that if I had used full stregth and left it on longer it would have removed more colour~ but I would think it would be pretty damaging too.  I don't know.  Maybe not because many say Color Fix is less damaging than bleach.  Who knows *shrugs*

I think I am going to re-do my roots myself and do a brief 'diluted' bleach scrub on the lengths to try and lighten up the rest and then tone it.  (I think!)  I REALLY want to go to the salon to get this corrected but I am terrified.  I am not concerned about the cost of it as I would rather pay additional money than to damage my hair~ I just DO NOT TRUST ANYONE anymore.  EVERY time I have trusted a salon, I have regretted it.  When I did things myself~ I was always happy~ although wanted the odd issue corrected (brassiness, etc)~ Which I am now hoping I can get help fixing through this board.

What exactly is colorfix??  Is it a bleach or not?  I had way too many lowlights put in my hair and the girl who did it said she would put a color remover on those pieces and then get them blonde again, but then she changed her mind and just pulled highlightes over top of the lowlights.  Now my hair is breaking off.  Should she have used colorfix?? - or would it have done the same amount of damage

Thankyou - right you are. i just did a strand test and it's gone from a level 1 at the tips (where my hair is black) up to a level 5 very light brassy brown, which is great news.  It means that most of my hair at the top will go lighter than this, maybe a level 5/6, and my roots will be a very light blonde because that's what they are naturally.

Can't wait to get this colour out and start again now!

Colorfix won't take you back to your natural color if you used a permanent color since those prelighten your hair. It will take you to whatever color is under the dye. That color can be orangeish if you used a permanent color.

I'm pretty sure colorfix is supposed be able to get through all the color that's been put on your hair.

I actually have an appropriate question here too....if Colorifix takes your hair down to your natural pigment, but there is bleach underneath the dye, will it just go down to where the bleach is?

It takes the colour down to your natural pigment, but it may still leave a bit of staining (probably not the right word!) behind, e.g if your natural colour is blonde then it will be noticably a bit brassy.

Does it take all the color out of your hair down to your natural color?

 

I've got several colors on my hair; I'm wondering if it will take all the color out?
