Thanks Kristen and kalena for the bobby pins suggestion. I am probably going to have to do that for the next few weeks. lol I can just see my hair hanging halfway down my head in the next week or so.
i use bobby pins, too. that`s what i did on the last full sew-in that i did. i actually even did that with my pro-flex with my last install. the track had slipped but yet it was still STUCK on my hair like super glue, so i just bobby pinned and pushed it up into the next track X].
I've worn tracks quite a few times and when mine started to slip I had a little trick to fix it up. I don't know how good it is for your hair but I was able to get some bobby pins and push the track back up to where is was initially sewn in and then pin it back into place. I'd use about 5 pins per track and space them out evenly. I'd do this when I couldn't get in to see the gal who used to install them for me. It always worked well for me and let me go at least an extra week or two. I even slept with the pins in and I didn't feel them at all.
Yup. Like Tangles and Kalika said, tracks get loose quickly on our silky white girl hair.
Having worn tracks off and on for 15 yrs, I can totally sympathize. May I suggest you consider trying the proflex tapes with your wefts next time. IMO, they are the absolute bomb. I've got four rows in right now going on 4 weeks and they're holding fast - better even than fusion on my silky straight fine hair. Easy to put in and take out; no damage. Least expensive method ever. For a DIYer, they are the Holy Grail. I do tapes in back and shrinkies on the sides and it's hands down the best installation I have ever had EVER.
Again, my opinion, but I've tried everything and I do mean everything.

She put them in as tight as she could. She kept asking if they were too tight and was I getting a headache. My head hurt for 3 days after so I don't think she could have done any better. It's not a huge deal. Just wondered if there wasn't something I could use to take them out myself if they don't stay for the next few weeks. :)

well regardless, white women need to tighten sew ins more then black women, just as a genral rule. There are exceptions to this, of course, but the textures are so different. Kinky hair holds braids and cornrows way better then straight hair does.

caucasian hair is especially prone to slipping due to the texture of the hair. its nothing to worry about, just means you need to tighten it more then kinky hair
that is perfectly normal- wefts always slip when they are growing out. Not a big deal, i would leave them alone. if you wanted it tight all the time you would be in her chair every week!
you paid good money, leave them in and deal with it, no one knows its slipping right? so leave it alone. Relax girl, if u need to cover areas that might start showing, tease and spray, tease and spray!

Ok, my extensionist is out of town until next month and my hair has apparently grown a lot. My extensions in the back and underneath are about an inch away from my head. Luckily, it is hidden for now by the top part but I'm wondering if it's not just a matter of time before the top starts doing it too.
Should I try to find someone else in this area (I know of one other place but wasn't too keen on the condition of the shop...flea markety type place) or should I just try to stick it out until she gets back? Also, if I decide to take them out myself until she gets back what would I use to get them out? They're sewn in, of course, but would a seam ripper work or what?
