I agree with Blackhoney. Yes you should do a deep condition everyweek or at least I do and you can do the protein followed by a deep conditioner like every 2 weeks- once a month. I would get something that states a deep conditioner because regular ones are not designed to do a deep treatment. You can co-wash one week and shampoo the next if you like..its more of a personal preference and what works well for you, but it wouldn't hurt though. HTH

thanks blackhoney!! I am kinda lost about the deep conditioning and the conditioning. I read that you should do both every week. Can you use a regular conditioner as your deep conditioner or do you have to get something that specifically states it is a deep conditioner. Also with the conwashes and the shampoos... my routine is to wash once a week. It is okay to conwash one week and shampoo the next or it is necesssary to shampoo the scalp every week?

Yes you should do a deep moisturizing conditioning after every reconstruct because it can be very drying to the hair. Doing a conwash should put moisture back into your hair, HTH

Hello all!! I got my braids out a week ago and I went to a professional and she told me that my hair lacked moisture but was okay to relax. Well, I got the relaxer and I moisturize my hair with Silk Elements in the morning and before I wrap my hair at night. I started to notice slight breakage at the ends. I shampoo once a week with Ion and I was told to reconstruct this week and then to reconstruct once a month. I did not condition my hair after reconstructing it and was wondering could that cause a problem? I did blow dry my hair after washing and did use a heat protectant. I was wondering should I let my hair air dry to help stop the breakage? I have no idea what the problem is and am anxious to get to the bottom of this. Would wearing my hair in a protective style stop the breakage or actually encourage it further?
