QuoteReplyTopic: PURPLE shampoo question? Posted: January 24 2006 at 4:27am
I have been having HUGE problems with brassiness and I just used the Clairol Shimmer lights the other day and I do believe that it's worked! I didn't care for the smell though. Also, it is a "conditioning" shampoo and I didn't like that either (don't know if it comes as "regular"); HOWEVER, I will use it again because it seems to be the only thing that's worked in a long time!

I have heard good things about the shampoos that Alayney recomended. Also, I recently purchased a pretty good one by Schwarzkopf 'Bonacure' Line called 'Color Save Silver'. It is truly purple and it killed the yellow/brass in my hair after about two or three shampoos.
Cost was $11.99 CAD~ so it would be about $10.25 or so in USD. Any salon that sells Schwarzkopf will sell it.

The shampoo is literally purple. Some brands that I know of are: Aveda Blue Malva (it's purple, not blue); Clairol Silver Lights (I think it's geared towards gray hair but it's fine for blonde ... hmmm, that's all I can think of right now. I know there's more. I have a salon brand conditioner that's purple (Aveda also has purple conditioner) called D'avines. That's the brand name.

go to a salon, say do you have shampoo that prevents hair from getting brassy and they'll show you to it. :)
That's hwo I got mine. It cost me like 12.00 though. Works wonderfully.
