i require a consultation as well to match color and texture, get a feel of the hair etc. i do a full consultation that covers alot, so i do need to have them in my chair. Now for my out of state clients, that do fly me there, kentucky, Dallas, NYC, vegas,Washington, and Chicago.I do a phone consult, they we make other arrangements from their. i get a picture and most times a sample of their hair overnited, with a deposit to cover hair and airfare. I am trying to limit the states i fly into and refer my business out, espciailly maintance. i love nyc and vegas and dallas, anything else i am trying to refer out.
hope that helps.

Hi Synne- Although I prefer an in-person consultation, I have had clients from out of town that don't want to come in for the consultation. I have had them send me an email picture and I have also had them go to a local beauty supply store like sallys and malys and match their hair as close as possible to a hair color swatch there. Then, I go to my local store and match it up with my color ring. I have done this a few times and it works just fine.
Again, ideal scenario is to meet in-person first. I hope this helps!
I usually require them to come in for a consulation before the actual appointment. The one and only time I did not have the client come in prior to the appointment was a disaster. She was from out of town, and had emailed me a picture of her hair. I tried to pick out the colors, but there were off, and I had to color the extension hair when she arrived.
Synne I think its very important to see the clients hair prior to install. I feel that a consultation is extremely necessary. You really need to see the clients hair to see the texture, and color. And to see the condition of their hair and also to decide which method of install is right for their hair. I dont think one method is right for all hair types.
You dont have to stock the hair, but you can get the money for the hair up front before ordering the hair.
I would like to get some real heads to practice on. But the people I could get by advertising on the internet, don´t allways have the oppertunity to come to me before appoinment. So here´s my question:
Do all of your clients come to you before app. to choose the correct haircolour, or do you have hair in stock i many colours?
I don´t have the money right now to by a lot of hair to have in stock
